Faculty Position Openings

1. Research fields for the opening positions:
  • Physics: Theoretical Physics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Acoustics, Plasma Physics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Optical Physics
  • Nuclear Physics and Technology: ENuclear Technology and Application, Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Materials, Nuclear Science and Engineering
2. Experimental High Energy Physics Associate Professor:
  • Job description:
  • The School of Physical Sciences at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, China, invites applications for a faculty position at the Associate Professor level in High Energy Physics.

The UCAS HEP group is engaged in experimental particle physics research as part of the Beijing Electron Spectrometer (BESIII) collaboration. The BESIII experiment, at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider (BEPC), focuses on charm physics, charmonium decays, light hadron spectroscopy, tau and QCD physics; the UCAS group is involved in physics analysis, hardware and software development. The UCAS HEP group also plans to carry out research on CP violation and mixing for neutral D decays at the future super flavor factory.

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue a vigorous research program within the HEP group, and to assume teaching responsibilities within the School of Physical Sciences of two 40-hour lecture courses each year.

This is a permanent position, subject to review after 3 years. Annual salary will start in the range 70,000 to 100,000 RMB, depending on experience. International candidates may also be eligible to apply for a Chinese Academy of Sciences Young International Scientists Fellowship of up to 250,000 RMB plus round-trip international air fare per year (up to two years).

Candidates with a Ph.D. and at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience in particle physics are invited to apply by sending their C.V., with a brief research summary, list of publications and statement of research plans to Prof. Yangheng Zheng at the address in the "Contact Us" page. Email is preferred. Applicants should also arrange for 2-3 letters of reference to be sent to the same address.
